Am I weird or what?
On this blog, I just got done adding links to the blogs of Elaine's kids and kids-in-law because Grandma and I decided we'd like to hear what's going on with them a little more often.
Anyway, I just realized that they're ALL done by females. And all the ones I've seen links to from my girls' blogs are done by females. I'm pretty much the only guy I know that has decided to try this personal, family-type, blogging thing.
So I ask again: Am I weird or what?

Weird? no. A minority? yes.
Most personal, family blogs are done by women, with the occasional guest post by the husband.
I have noticed that women enjoy blogging for three main reasons:
1)as a way to connect with others, helping us SAHMs from feeling isolated.
2)a way to document their life and children's lives giving a sense of purpose to the monotonous lifestyle of a typical SAHM.
3) a way to keep ones brain from deteriorating due to mommy-brain syndrome. Some of us went to college, and earned degrees. Some days it's nice to feel smart again. Others like the creative outlet a blog provides.
Most men find ways to fulfill these needs through their careers.
Well, I'm certainly NOT a SAHM so those reasons for blogging don't apply to me.
I just see it as another way to connect with family and friends and be able to keep updated with day-to-day family happenings and share insights into our daily lives and the issues that affect us.
If those are your reasons for blogging then I wouldn't say you are weird. Don't stress about being the only guy.
