There is one thing about the Spring season that irks me...
Too many people think it should be warm every day.
It seems like I'm always hearing people say something like: "I thought this was supposed to be Spring. Why is it still snowing?" and other similar sentiments.
PEOPLE, PEOPLE...
The first day of Spring is NOT the first day of constantly warmer weather! The first day of Spring is the beginning of a transition period from Winter to Summer. That means you're going to get a mixture of BOTH Winter and Summer, each tempered a bit by the other. The Wintry days aren't quite as wintry, and the warm Summery days aren't quite as warm as real Summer days.
I just thought of a new way to think of it. Imagine Mother Nature wearing about 90 layers of thin clothing at the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. Each day of Spring she removes one layer of clothing. By the time the last layer is removed, it's fully Summer.
Again, Spring is a transitional period; occasional warm sunny days in March are coupled with occasional cold snowy days in May.
Spring is a beautiful time of year. It is interesting in SO MANY different ways.
Accept it for what it is and SMILE!

So sue me! I want four distinct seasons. I want spring, with flowers blooming, balmy 50ish temps, and rain storms. Not 30's, snow storm after snow storm after snow storm which are killing my hearty daffodils and creating a intense case of cabin fever in me and my boys.
"No boys, we can't play in the backyard/ go to see the baby animals at the farm/play at the park/walk around the block/feed the ducks at the pond because it's SNOWING again."
I'm sure it's not helping that Tyson has WAY out grown his coat and can no longer squeeze into it.
I am totally with you Nicole. We never get a Spring that is 100% enjoyable. That is what I want. I want warmish weather, and flowers everywhere. I want to be able to walk around my neighborhood without FREEZING.
Maybe I just want Summer. Is that so bad?
