A few year's ago, Grandma and I bought a large alpaca rug while on vacation at Lake Tahoe. It is white, about 5 x 6 feet in size, and the fur is as soft as can be. Grandma also bought an alpaca jacket which she wears whenever she needs a nice, warm jacket. We also got an alpaca pillow with an owl on it because I also like owls.
I might have a special like for Alpaca since the animal comes from Peru, which is where I served my LDS mission. I brought a few alpaca items home with me from Peru. They include a smaller alpaca rug that hangs on the wall in my bedroom, a few hand-woven alpaca ties, a few alpaca sweaters (that no longer fit), and an alpaca poncho that is really warm.
One of the reasons we wanted this particular rug is for our grandkids to lay on and enjoy. I don't know which is softer, the fur of this rug or a baby's skin. At any rate, here are a few photos Cheryl took of her kids lying on it last Sunday, after dinner.
