Republican National Convention Tonight

I imagine I'm right there with most of the rest of the country tonight. I can't wait to hear Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention as she takes the opportunity to introduce herself to the nation.

After hearing all the commentary, both good and bad, and the questions raised in the media about her ability and readiness for the job, I can't wait to hear what SHE has to say about it all.

I'm a little disgusted with the media, both local and national, repeatedly and constantly bringing up the subject of her unwed daughters pregnancy and her husband's DUI of 20 years ago, etc. What on earth makes them think that stuff matters anyway. I applaud Senator Obama's statement that a candidate's family issues should rightfully be off-limits.

Anyway, from all that I've heard so far, I really like Senator McCain's selection of Governor Palin as his vice presidential running mate. As I heard on the Doug Wright show on the radio this morning, as a state governor she probably has to make more important decisions in a month than a senator has to make in two years in office.

Tonight, all ears, including mine, will be turned to the convention coverage to hear her speech to the convention delegates and to the nation as a whole. I wish her well.
